Meet the Team

You might say that I am the creative, spontaneous, crazy, and over the top idea “suggestor” that may only slightly overwhelm my very streamlined husband ;)

I tend to focus on honeybee management, product development, website content, honey harvesting, and environmental impact! In my mind these are all the “fun” tasks. Thankfully my husband enjoys all the “not fun” tasks.

The love for honeybees started very randomly after I thought, “How cool would it be to raise our own bees and harvest their honey?”. It quickly became something I wanted to share with others.

I can say without a doubt that the love & support from “my person”, AKA husband, AKA my rock and of course my family is what makes taking on owning a business and pursuing this passion achievable.

When my wife came to me and said, “I want honeybees”…. I’m not even sure I knew what that meant or looked like. I’m just thinking how many times am I going to get stung, and how much do I love my wife…..

Sooooo, here we are…. I’m now the “wrangler” of all my wife’s crazy ideas and builder of our visions for Self Honeybee Farm.

Let’s just say I prefer very clear ideas, step-wise and organized processes and just in case you haven’t read my wife’s description… I get to practice “stretching” my mind frequently while prioritizing our plans. :)

My main focuses are finances, sales, building hive components, and honey harvesting.

I’m thankful for my wife taking lead and providing us an opportunity to help honeybees and impact our local community.

Through endless love and encouragement from our family, we decided to create Self Honeybee Farm in 2021. We have had honeybee colonies since 2018 and just couldn’t shake our “honeybee fever”.

We are a small-scale, Tennessee-based honeybee business and have mountains of ideas on how to grow in the future. Currently, we provide liquid honey, comb honey and chapstick. We also will remove swarms. In the near future, we will provide honeybee hive rentals (host-a-hive) that are managed by us but you enjoy the pollination and honey perks!

Thanks for taking the time to check out our website and learn more about who we are, what we provide and what we are striving for!

If you ever find yourself in our area, don’t be a stranger! Swing by, we would love to talk honeybees and if the “honeybee fever” hits you, we will let you explore the hives with us!
